half purebred, half lazy

I just recently found out something surprising.

Bugsy's previous owner usually calls from time to time to catch up on the latest about my little pup. I told him about the time that Bugsy kept sniffing a part of the bushes in the garden and when we looked, turned out to be my mom's missing glasses. How a pair of glasses can have a scent, I have no clue. I also told him about how much he hates cats now which seems to have been genetic - from his mom. Apparently Bugsy's siblings don't feel the same way. Even the word CAT makes him pissed.

Hugging this sweet little furball is always the highlight of my day. As I close the car door from across the street when I come home, he starts barking and all jumpy once I get in the front door. Who can't be happy with that kind of welcome?

So anyway, back to my revelation. I tell Rodney that Bugsy's butt is...entertaining. Not having a tail at all has it's advantages. As he walks, it bounces as if he were skipping along some yellow brick road. While nibbling on something, it shifts as he lies in his crate - from left to right. His crate gives off a whimper when he plops it all down. But according to Rodney, the fact that Bugsy can walk while dragging his butt is not a normal thing. And this is what he actually does. He sometimes likes to walk or get into a certain position with his two front legs while his butt and legs are in lying position and are just dragged on along for the ride.

Bugsy, from the front looks like he's in his best purebred pose, all regal and at attention. Then the other half is just sprawled on the floor like a furry water balloon. Unique. Entertaining. Just Wonderful.

the picture was taken the first time I met Bugsy at Rodney's house. He had a cover on his ear that served as trainers so that he could raise them up and down. Problem is he kept pulling the cover out but he now has perfectly controlled ears. BUT check out that butt. I fell in love with him even more after seeing this photo.

A steady New Year

Bugsy spent his first new year's day with our family. It was both an exciting and terrifying experience for him. All curious and thrilled with the sounds he heard outside, he ran out after my dad. Once he saw the lights in the sky, he just bolted back in dragging his "mommy" along with him.

I just brought him inside the study room with the airconditioning on and hugged him. Burrowing his head in my arms, I think he was more scared of what was happening. All the noise would be hard to understand. Not to mention all of us screaming Happy New Year at midnight.

A conflict ensued when my mom said to keep him in the room for fear that the noise might harm his sensitive ears. Dad on the other hand kept searching and wanted him to join us outside with the festivities. Poor baby did not get to see the light show. I may have missed the fireworks but I keep saying thanks for the best thing to happen to my life in 2010: the best little puppy in the world.

bugsy's ears are all wrapped up so that his sensitive ears would not be affected by the fireworks booms!
